Bruce Peninsula OPP are concerned about a big jump in the number of drivers who are racing up the Peninsula.
Interim Detachment Commander, Staff Sergeant Paul Richardson says from January 1st until July 12th, 40 people have been charged with stunt driving, or driving more than 50 kmh over the speed limit.
By comparison, Bruce Peninsula OPP charged only 48 drivers for the same offence in all of 2017.
Richardson says on Friday of the long weekend (July 6th) there were 5 stunt drivers charged on highway 6 on the Bruce Peninsula.
He says the OPP will continue to be vigilant and charge those who choose to put the safety of themselves and others in jeopardy.
The Interim Detachment Commander adds if you see an unsafe driver operating their vehicle in a careless and reckless manner call 911.
