Barrie Doubles Attack in OHL Exhibition

The Barrie Colts doubled the Owen Sound Attack 6-3 in Ontario Hockey League pre-season play at the Harry Lumley-Bayshore Community Centre Sunday afternoon.

Underage defenceman Brandt Clarke rifled 3 goals to lead the Colts.

Clarke was selected 4th overall by Barrie in the 2019 OHL Priority Selection and flashed his offensive touch with 2 power play markers including one on a wicked shot that gave the Colts a 4-2 lead in the 3rd period

Luke Bignell scored twice for Barrie while Victor Hadfield opened the scoring with a nifty deflection.

Rookie Matthew Dunsmoor got the win in goal for the Colts making 26 saves.

Daylon Groulx, Barrett Kirwin & Kirill Nizhnikov scored for the Attack.

Mack Guzda started in goal for Owen Sound and gave up 3 goals against in 31 minutes while newcomer Nick Chenard relieved and also was touched for 3 Barrie goals.

The Colts will host the Attack in a rematch on Monday night at 6 pm at the Molson Centre in Barrie.
