Owen Sound police have arrested a man after a collision on the city's west side.
Police say just before 7:30 Wednesday evening (Sept 4th) a collision occurred at the intersection of 10th Street West and 8th Ave West.
Owen Sound Police, Fire and Grey County Paramedics responded.
Police say a Kirkland Lake man driving a Toyota pickup ran a red light and hit a Volkswagen. The impact caused all of the Volkswagen's airbags to deploy.
No one was injured. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Police say as a result of their investigation, a road side breath test was conducted in which the 36 year old driver from Kirkland Lake failed.
The man was arrested and police say a later breath test showed he was over twice the legal limit for alcohol.
The driver was charged impaired driving, failing to stop for a red light and for driving with an open container of liquor.
His vehicle has been impounded for 7 days and his driver's licence suspended for 90 days.
The man will appear in Owen Sound Court September 12th.
