Saugeen Shores Legion Offering Bursary

Students could recieve up to $750 towards their studies.

With classes back in session post-secondary students who are eligible, can apply for a Royal Canadian Legion bursary and could receive $750 towards their studies.

President of the Port Elgin Legion Branch #340, Robert Harrison says students who qualify for OSAP and are of the following can apply:

-Ex-Service personnel or currently serving members of The Canadian Forces and their children and grandchildren.
-Commonwealth war veterans and their children and grandchildren.
-Ordinary and Life members of The Royal Canadian Legion and their children and grandchildren.
- Associate members of The Royal Canadian Legion and their children only.
-Ladies' Auxiliary members and their children and grandchildren.

Total family net income must be less than $150,000.

"Since the academic year of 2002-2003 to 2017-2018 our Bursary program has made a total of 11,484 awards totalling $5,790,325," says Harrison.

During the 2017-2018 school year a total of 452 post secondary students received $338,500.00, just in the Province of Ontario.
