Today (September 9th) is International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD) Awareness Day and is what experts say is the leading cause of developmental disabilities in Canada.
To raise awareness and support for the needs of those living with the effects of FASD, The Grey Bruce FASD Leadership Team has organized a full-day workshop to be hosted at the Grey Bruce Health Unit (101 17th St E) in Owen Sound.
Members attending the workshop will be walking nine blocks from 12:15-12:45 to show support.
Myles Himmelreich, a motivational speaker who lives with FASD, is a speaker at the workshop.
Himmelreich co-lead a ground-breaking study on the health and physical issues of adults living with FASD.
