Summer Theatre at Meaford Hall is postponed due to COVID-19.
The Hall says all events and performances before the Labour Day Weekend are rescheduled.
The summer live theatre season, which includes two musicals and a Norm Foster comedy, have all been moved into the same weeks in Summer 2021.
A media release from Meaford Hall says this was to be the third summer of live professional theatre at Meaford Hall after a 10 year hiatus. They say it was highly anticipated after a successful season in 2019.
Manager of Cultural Services, Susan Lake says she believes the theatre is likely to be the last sector of business allowed to open.
They say performances are being rescheduled into Fall 2020 and beyond and report that some shows have already had three postponements.
The media release adds, as larger gatherings become allowed there, they hope to bring musical performances back, but that is likely to look very different.
Lake says when they do open, there will be masks for staff and extra sanitizing. They say they're considering performances with reduced capacity for social distancing; one set performances without intermissions; and seating zones similar to airplanes where people enter and exit in a specific order to avoid two-way traffic flow.
Ticket holders will be able to retain their preferred seating. Once a reopening date is confirmed, all patrons with tickets will be notified.
The Box Office is open by phone or email at 519-538-0463 or email@example.com.
You can also tune in to the Meaford Hall Facebook page every Tuesday and Thursday night at 7:30 to catch 'Live it Live!'
Upcoming performances include Dan Dwoskin of the Honeyrunners on June 23rd and Chris Scerri/Jon Zaslow on June 25.
