Attack Set Franchise Record

Owen Sound | by Fred Wallace

Post Game Comments from Coach Ryan McGill and Zachary Roberts

Ontario Hockey League

Owen Sound Attack 8 Guelph Storm 2

Attack 8 Storm 2

Jonah Gadjovich had a natural hat trick for the Attack who established a new franchise record with their 11th consecutive win.

For Gadjovich, that's two hat tricks in his last 3 games.

Zachary Roberts had a goal and 3 points for Owen Sound while Kevin Hancock, Markus Phillips, Matthew Struthers and Petrus Palmu also scored in the victory.

Palmu and Gadjovich lead the Attack in goals with 24 on the season. Last year, Palmu had 23 and was the top goal scorer for Owen Sound.

Michael McNiven got the win in net which gives him 22 victories on the season and allows him to move into 3rd place all time in career victories by an Owen Sound netminder with 58. Jordan Binnington with 86 and Curtis Sanford with 65 are the only Owen Sound netminders to post more regular season victories in their career than McNiven.

Guelph had a 2-1 lead midway through the first period on goals by Nick Deakin-Poot and Isaac Ratcliffe.

However, Owen Sound would score 3 straight to take a 4-2 first period lead and made it 7 straight markers to send the Storm to their 6th straight loss

The same two teams will meet each again Friday night at the Sleeman Centre in Guelph.

You can hear Friday's game live on 560 CFOS with Kia of Owen Sound-Terry's Trailer Service Bearadio
