West Grey Police are looking for tips to help solve a rash of recent break, enter and thefts in Durham.
Police say on Aug. 6, municipal staff reported a break and enter at the Durham Ball Diamond pavilion. A cooler was damaged and the display piece on top of it stolen, along with a set of keys.
West Grey Police say one of the work sheds was also broken into at the ball diamond, and a number of hand tools stolen.
Then, in the early morning hours of Aug. 9, outbuildings at a property on Douglas Street were entered. Police say a wheelbarrow, two drills, a chainsaw and a sander were stolen. Keys for vehicles stored in the outbuilding were also taken by the unknown thieves.
Police say another incident happened the night of Aug. 9 — someone made an attempt to steal a motorcycle from an address on Elm Street W. Later on, West Grey Police say two suspects, described as a male in a camo hoodie and a male in a yellow jacket, were spotted trying to steal a truck from a business on South Street East.
“Their attempt was observed by an employee who happened to be on site but the suspects fled the scene on foot and have not been located,” a release from West Grey Police explains.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to call West Grey Police or Crime Stoppers.
