Owen Sound residents can now report concerns about trees on city property online.
The city has launched a new online service to allow residents to notify the city of trees with low branches, fallen limbs or cracks. For more observant tree enthusiasts, you can also notify the city about pest infestation, other tree health concerns or unexpected changes.
The new service applies only for trees on city property, including the boulevard.
“If you have concerns about a tree on private property, contact a qualified arborist for an assessment,” a city release explains.
Last year, the city’s arborists responded to more than 160 tree concerns. Owen Sound employs two International Society of Arboriculture qualified arborists.
