Premier Doug Ford says the current Ontario Covid-19 numbers show why we can’t open the border to the US.
Reminding that the virus spreads like a bush fire, he addressed a chart showing all large regions in North America.
He says Ontario’s relatively low cases per hundred thousand people is in stark contrast with places like Florida where cases still surge.
“And this is the reason – and I always say, you know, I love our American friends, I really do, I spend a lot of time down there. But this is the reason, Prime Minister, we can’t open the borders. It’s very simple,” said Ford.
The Premier also stresses to youth returning to college and university this fall the importance of not partying or engaging in behaviours which could lead to new cases.
