Cobble Beach in Georgian Bluffs has launched phase 2 of its housing development at the Golf Resort Community with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
Rosemary McLeese cut the ribbon this past Saturday, in a small ceremony due to COVID-19 precautions attended by Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker, Georgian Bluffs Mayor Dwight Burley, Owen Sound Mayor Ian Boddy, Senior VP of Reid’s Heritage Homes Ron McMillan and Cobble Beach President and owner Rob McLeese. Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MP Alex Ruff was unable to attend, but sent a statement of support as well.
A statement from Cobble Beach says, “When you turn into Cobble Beach the first
thing you will notice is the Willis pond to the right, named after Rob McLeese’s late
father Willis McLeese the founding visionary of the project. To the left you will see
the Phase 2 development on the highlands of Cobble Beach, located in the Algonquin Heights neighbourhood.”
There are two main builders, Georgian Villas Inc. and Sherwood Homes (a division of Reid’s Heritage Homes).
Phase Two will add 67 detached homes located along the 11th and 12th fairways.
115 homes have already been built in the community.
Many residents are local to the area, with over 43 per cent of existing home buyers coming from other parts of Grey and Bruce counties.
