Saugeen Shores hasn’t received any Covid 19 vaccines yet but if it does, the community hopes vaccination clinics will be local.
Saugeen Shores Committee of Whole received an information report that outlines a draft plan for Covid 19 vaccine clinics in Saugeen Shores.
Mayor Luke Charbonneau says the municipality “stands ready to support any effort by public health to mitigate the spread of Covid 19….and to distribute vaccines.”
Charbonneau says they are working with community partners–the Nuclear Innovation Institute (NII) and UNIFOR–to earmark several facilities that can be used as vaccination centres.
The municipality has offered both the draft plan and use of community facilities to the Grey Bruce Health Unit for their consideration in their planning as vaccines become available.
