Bruce County’s Economic Development team has been recognized with an Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC) award.
It’s kind of tough to entice tourists to visit your area when a Covid-19 pandemic pretty well shut everything down.
However Bruce County and Astrodog Media came up with a unique story to tell in May, 2020.
A video was released targeting tourism audiences when travel was not recommended.
It was called “Bruce County Adventures-Coming Soon.”
According to a news release from the county, “The video was a strong, sincere invitation to visitors to stay safe at home, for now, but consider Bruce County for future travel plans when it’s safe to do so.”
Economic Deverlops Association of Canada (EDAC) thought it was good as well as Bruce was awarded 1st place in the Promotional Video category.
Warden Janice Jackson says “We’re really proud to receive national recognition for the work we are doing in economic development. Telling our tourism story, even during the
pandemic, paid off for our tourism economy, and the video was a powerful tool to share our message.”
The video can be viewed on Bruce County’s YouTube channel.
EDAC is Canada’s national organization of economic developers.
