There’s light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to the Covid-19 pandemic in Grey Bruce.
That optimistic view comes from the Medical Officer of Health in Grey Bruce.
Dr. Ian Arra was taking part in another in a series of town hall meetings with Bruce Power’s James Scongack as host.
Last night’s meeting took place at the P & H Centre in Hanover–one of three locations for a Hockey Hub vaccination facility.
The other two centres will be in Owen Sound and Kincardine.
Dr. Arra addressed several issues that have been prevalent in the media recently.
He says of the 12,000 or so that have been vaccinated to date, there has been no serious reactions.
Arra says some may experience sore arms or a rash but otherwise patients have spoken highly of the experience.
When it was suggested people may be “shopping around” for one of the four vaccines, Dr. Arra suggested they are all good and nothing should be turned down.
He says by late March or early April, this region will get plenty of vaccines then “The challenge will be how fast can we go, not how much can we advocate for.”
In the meantime, it’s the same message as was heard a year ago when the pandemic hit North America–washing hands, wearing a mask and keep the necessary distance between between yourself and others, will protect “everyone of us.”
