Saugeen Shores voters will be casting their ballots next year by telephone or the internet.
Council passed a bylaw to that effect on Monday, April 26th.
Clerk Linda White explained to council earlier in April, that despite the hiccups during the last election where voting was extended by 24-hours, staff believe the phone/internet system is the way to go.
White says for one thing, it allows seasonal home owners to cast ballots as well.
She says the process is easier for seasonals that leave in Septemer to get their voter card and the information they need to vote from anywhere in the world, via the internet.
White says, for those who may be uneasy voting on the phone or internet, there will still be computer stations set up in the town office and staff to assist those with their vote.
The next municipal election is October, 2022.
