South Bruce Peninsula council has taken steps to address two issues at Sauble Beach, prior to the traditional start of the tourist season.
Mayor Janice Jackson, in an email, says council held a special meeting Tuesday, May 11th where they accepted the staff recommendation regarding a reduced speed limit on Lakeshore Boulevard.
Jackson says the speed limit will be reduced from 50km/h to 30km/h from May to September.
After that, the limit will revert to 50km/h an hour.
In addition, Mayor Jackson states that Jersey barriers will be placed on Lakeshore from the Crowd Inn in south Sauble to Chesley Lane in the north.
She says this is shorter than planned and will free up about 30 parking spots.
The northern end of the project area is deep enough for safe parking so the project was scaled back.
