Police say two Saugeen First Nation residents are facing multiple charges as a result of a traffic stop by Grey Bruce OPP.
On May 30, around 2 a.m., police stopped a vehicle on Highway 21 near Christine Street in Saugeen First Nation.
Upon speaking with the driver and the passenger, the officer arrested the driver for impaired operation and other drug related offences, as well as the passenger for several criminal offences.
An investigation led to a 39-year-old woman from Saugeen First Nation being charged with driving while impaired, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid.
While the other 38-year-old Saugeen First Nation woman is facing assaulting and obstructing a peace officer, two counts of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, possession of cocaine, methamphetamine and opioid.
Both the accused were held for a bail hearing on May 31.
