Several Covid assessment centres in Bruce and Grey counties are reducing hours due to a drop in demand for testing.
Grey Bruce Health Services says the testing centres in Owen Sound, Southampton and Lion’s Head will all shorten their hours, effective June 7.
“The number of individuals seeking a COVID-19 test in Grey and Bruce region has been dropping over the past few weeks thanks to fewer local cases of the virus, and higher vaccination rates,” a release from GBHS explains.
The Owen Sound assessment centre on 16th Avenue East will now operate six days per week. It is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Friday, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday.
In Lion’s Head, the assessment centre at the hospital will only operate between 8 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesdays.
And for Southampton, the testing centre at the hospital is now 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.
The Hanover and District Hospital is also reducing the hours at its Covid assessment centre as of June 7.
It will run on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
