Saugeen Shores council is considering some changes to traffic and parking by-laws at its meeting tonight.
The proposals are coming in response to all-way stop requests, speed limit modification requests, and the implementation of recommendations from the Transportation Master Plan.
Some of the proposed changes include putting new all-way stops at Grosvenor Street and Morpeth Street, Green Street and Waterloo Street and others.
The proposed by-law would also see speed limits adjusted to 60 on Concession 4 from Highway 21 to the lake and 60 on Concession 6 between the existing 40 east of highway 21 and Sideroad 13/14.
Considerations are also being made to restrict and prohibit parking on various streets like on South Street at Huron Street, and prohibiting on both sides on Huron Street to the extension of Grosvenor Street.
Council will be looking at creating Community Safety Zones around schools and hospitals.
Following the meeting, residents will be given the opportunity to give their thoughts until Sept. 3. Staff will then review and either include them or provide responses when the final version of the by-law is presented to council later on Sept 13.
Should the by-law be approved, signs will be set up and enforced.
The meeting can be caught on the municipal website and comments can be set to amanda.froese@saugeenshores.ca.
