An Environmental Stewardship Ad Hoc Committee (ESAC) is looking for residential input on environmental issues in Saugeen Shores.
A release notes a survey will assist the committee in understanding the town’s priorities on various issues like the municipal stewardship of natural assets and resources, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, waste reduction and diversion, as well as mitigation of the effects of climate change.
The results of the survey will be used to make recommendations to the Saugeen Shores council later in the year.
ESAC Chair and Saugeen Shores Counc. Cheryl Grace says they encourage all members of the community to complete the survey.
“We know our residents want to protect our local environment, and your feedback will be invaluable in assisting the committee with its recommendations to council,” says Grace.
The survey can be completed online by visiting the Saugeen Shores municipal website.
Physical copies can be also picked up at the municipal office in Port Elgin, the Southampton Arts Centre, Re:Mind Wellness in Southampton, Bruce County Library in Port Elgin and Southampton, and Ralph’s in Port Elgin.
If you choose to fill out a paper copy, they can be submitted at the Municipal Office on 600 Tomlinson Drive.
The survey will end Sept. 17 mid-day and if you did not have the chance to fill it out, comments can be sent to cheryl.grace@saugeenshores.ca.
