Emergency Services were called to a marine rescue call this morning, but it turned out there was no one in distress.
Intertownship Fire Department Acting Fire Chief Jeff Gautreau says they, as well as the Owen Sound Fire Department attend the scene, along with the coast guard and OPP just north east of Owen Sound around 7 a.m. on Aug. 25.
According to Gautreau, they received word a resident in the area heard someone call out for help on the water. Upon arriving to the scene however, and after spending about an hour and a half searching, emergency services did not find anything.
“We were just checking the shoreline, an Owen Sound boat was in the water,” says Gautreau.
By the time the Intertownship Fire Department was leaving, Gautreau says the OPP and coast guard were still on the scene.
