Owen Sound Police say they are looking for assistance after a hit and run incident in the downtown core.
According to police, on Aug. 28 around 10:30 a.m., they received word of a pedestrian who was hit by a car at the intersection of 10th Street East and 2nd Avenue East.
Police note the pedestrian was crossing against traffic when they were struck by an east bound vehicle, forcing the pedestrian onto the hood of the car and falling to the ground.
Police say the driver continued eastbound on 10th Street East without stopping or reporting the incident to police.
The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was brought to Grey-Bruce Health Services.
Police are now on the search for a vehicle described as a newer-model, black or dark coloured Nissan SUV, possibly a Murano or Rogue. Police say there may be damage to the front, driver’s side corner near the headlight or on the hood of the vehicle.
