The Grey Bruce Health Unit says it is prepared to host vaccine clinics as Province announces third dose eligibility will expand on November 6th.
Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore said Wednesday, additional groups of high-risk people starting November 6th will be able to get a booster if at least 6 months have passed since their second dose. that includes those over 70, healthcare workers and care givers in congregate settings, those who received 2 doses of Astra Zeneca or one dose of the Jannsen vaccine and first nations, Inuit and Metis people and their non-indigenous household members.
The Provincial Government says over the coming months it will gradually roll out boosters to all Ontarians aged 12 and over.
The Grey Bruce Health Unit says planned clinics will be held at various municipal locations on a regular basis, and have an larger capacity to accommodate the volume which comes with this enhanced eligibility.
These municipal clinics will not be to the scale of the large Hockey HUBS, however, will be able to accommodate the volume related to this enhanced eligibility.
Those looking to get their third dose will only be able to book ahead of time using the provincial booking system online or by calling in.
Those seeking first or second doses will still be able to do so, and will not need to book ahead.
