Bruce County is retaining a consultant to undertake an environment assessment and detailed design for the rehabilitation of Bruce Road 6 East A.
A notice from the county says BT Engineering Inc will perform the work.
The construction project will cover George Street in Mildmay to Grey Road 10, including bridges.
To address the traffic needs in the project area, the study has looked at the roadway design, finding improvements need to be made to tackle the safety concerns over the vertical and horizontal curves, as well as current pavement structure, culverts, and bridges.
On top of this, the county will also be rebuilding the south side of Sideroad 20 North, to match improvements being made to Bruce Road 6 East A.
The work will be occurring in two phases, with the first focusing on the construction of George Street to the east of Sideroad 20 North, between Mildmay and Deemerton, in 2022 and 2023.
The second phase will feature the extension of east of Sideroad 20 to Grey Road 10 from 2026-27.
