Bruce County has issued a request for proposals (RFP) to find more rental units in the county.
This RFP is intended to help with locating additional housing for vulnerable residents in the community who are homeless, according to a release.
Bruce County is inviting those who are able, with funding, develop or acquire new rental units, complete retrofits and upgrades to existing units, or sell a property to Bruce County which can be used for retrofitting or upgrades to allow for the creation of new rental units.
Bruce County Director of Human Services Christine MacDonald says, the objective of the RFP is to seek immediate opportunities to create additional rental units, designated specifically for vulnerable populations within the next year.
Warden Janice Jackson adds, “Bruce County is committed to planning, delivering, and advocating for responsive housing services that help individuals and families enhance their level or participation and quality of life in our communities.”
Those interested in submitting a proposal, can visit the county’s bid opportunities portal on the municipal website.
