A Chatsworth family is ringing in the new year with the first Grey Bruce baby born in 2022.
Nova Storm Wallace was born on Jan. 1 at 5:05 a.m. to parents Cassandra Abbott and Cory Wallace, weighing 9.9 lbs at the Owen Sound hospital.
Nova is their third child, becoming the newest sibling to their other children Celeste and Roman.
Abbott says the birth was a complete success after a hour of pushing.
Abbott says Nova came earlier than her due date, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 9, which she says was quite a surprise.
“We just went on to new year’s like any other day and my daughter and son were kept up for some new year’s celebration, then my water broke,” says Abbott.
Abbott says her other children are excited to welcome their new sibling, but she says she is sure that is going to change once they get the baby home and it starts crying.
Abbott thanked everyone at the Owen Sound hospital for the help they provided and making the process comfortable.
