Saugeen Shores firefighters quickly put out a small blaze in downtown Port Elgin Wednesday afternoon.
The Town says in a release, it happened at about 2:30 p.m. on at 603 Goderich Street, which is the same building that houses the Queen’s Bar and Grill (the building includes upper-level apartments).
Twenty firefighters from Port Elgin and Southampton responded to find smoke on the main floor.
The Town says the source of the smoke was found in a roof cavity between two buildings. Crews quickly put out the fire and removed all burned materials to ensure no risk of further fire.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by Saugeen Shores Fire Prevention.
No one was injured. The Town says one tenant has been displaced and is staying with family.
