The City of Owen Sound says starting Wednesday evening, excess snow removal operations will be occurring in the downtown area.
The snow removal will begin at 8 p.m. and is expected to be completed by early Thursday morning.
Residents who have their vehicle parked in the downtown core must remove them from parking spaces by 8 p.m. to allow access for snow removal equipment.
The city says winter overnight parking restrictions are in place, and vehicles interfering with snow removal may be towed.
The operations are set to occur on the following streets:
-2nd Avenue East, from 6th Street East to 11th Street East
-3rd Avenue East, from 8th Street East to 10th Street East
-4th Avenue East, from 8th Street East to 10th Street East
-10th Street East, from 1st Avenue West to 4th Avenue East
-9th Street East, from 1st Avenue West to 4th Avenue East

City staff will be putting up signs indicating snow-clearing operations are ongoing.
Drivers and pedestrians are asked to be aware of their surroundings while traveling in these areas.
The city says snow removal operations in the downtown area are an essential part of the City’s efforts to keep the streets and sidewalks clear and passable for residents and emergency vehicles.
