The City of Owen Sound is starting its annual hydrant flushing until September.
The city says flushing of the fire hydrants is underway and ensures they are operational as well as improves water quality.
Residents are being advised if flushing is being done in their part of the city, they may see low water pressure or cloudy or rusty water, but this is normal.
It is recommended running a cold water tap for five to 30 minutes to clear the water. If that does not work, however, residents can call the water department at 519-376-4274.
The flushing will be starting in the areas closest to the water treatment plant and proceed to the system’s outer limits.
