Hanover will have a new Director of Parks, Recreation & Culture ahead of this summer.
Laura Christen, who is currently the department’s Programs Supervisor will be moving to the role starting May 24th.
Prior to joining the Town of Hanover in 2019, Laura served as a member of the senior management team with the Municipality of South Bruce in the role of Recreation and Facility Manager where she oversaw many facets of recreation, including facilities, parks, programs and aquatics.
A release from the Town says, “Laura is a positive and compassionate leader whose knowledge, experience, and training will continue to serve our Town and community well in this new capacity. Parks, Recreation and Culture remains in good hands; we congratulate Laura on her advancement and look forward to what the department will achieve under her leadership.”
Meanwhile, Sherri Walden will be assuming the role of Chief Administrative Officer in preparation for the retirement of current CAO Brian Tocheri.
