South Bruce OPP say a Carrick Township resident is facing numerous charges including attempted murder.
Police say on June 2 at 11:11 p.m., the OPP received a report of a suspicious person at a property along Concession 14.
OPP say officers arrived on the scene and were confronted by an individual holding a weapon who refused to cooperate with police.
Police say members from the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team responded to the call and took the accused into custody without incident. Members of the South Bruce OPP Major Crime unit and Forensic Identification unit also assisted with the investigation.
As a result, OPP say a 21-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a peace officer with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, attempt to commit murder, resist a peace officer, flight from police, four counts of driving while prohibited, mischief over $5,000, and failing to comply with probation.
OPP say one of their cruisers was damaged, but there were no injuries reported at the scene.
Police say the accused will be appearing in court in Walkerton to answer the charges.
