Southern Georgian Bay OPP marine officers and The Safe and Sober Awareness Committee are reminding boaters to practice safe operation over the long weekend.
Police say for residents to enjoy their civic holiday, they are stressing safe vessel operation tips.
OPP say some of these tips include wearing life jackets, having the proper safety equipment on board, leaving the alcohol behind, and never operate while impaired.
“Mixing alcohol and or other impaired substances with outdoor activities on our trails, waterways and roadways just never ends well,” say the OPP.
Officers will be on patrol in Georgian Bay.
