Bruce County Paramedic Services Training Team has helped make a training video to help future rescuers with emergencies on Chantry Island.
With the help of Saugeen Shores Fire Department and the Marine Heritage Society of Southampton to develop the video because of the challenges on the island.
The Training Team captured a video of how to treat a patient at the top of the lighthouse, as well as transporting a patient from the lighthouse back to the harbour.
The training video is meant to show how to respond to an incident on Chantry Island since it’s not always possible to train first responders in person.
Bruce County Paramedic Services regularly completes training exercises with local fire departments, but there hasn’t been a training exercise like this one at Chantry Island in about 15 years.
