Saugeen Shores police laid some impaired driving charges over the weekend.
Police posted a picture on social media Sunday of a car that had backed into a street sign and knocked it over.
According to police, it happened at the intersection of Market and Harbour streets at about 11 that morning.
Police say as a result of their investigation, a 25 year old from Cambridge has been charged with impaired driving, refusal to comply with a demand for a breath sample and driving without a licence.
They note the intersection, which is located by the marina, is a busy one and they add it’s lucky no one was injured.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, they say a citizen reported a suspected impaired driver to police dispatch on Saturday.
Officers located the vehicle and driver and arrested a Port Elgin woman.
They say she was charged after providing two breath samples over .300, which police note, is well over three times the legal limit.
