Summerfolk’s Artistic Director is calling this year’s event a success, in the return to a traditional format.
Artistic Director James Keelaghan says while they had a couple of bumps in the road for the 47th annual event, attendance and ticket sales were up over 2019 levels.
“That is an extremely positive thing, that people are ready to come back and to do the music again,” says Keelaghan.
He adds after two years of being dormant, being able to get all the moving parts back together is a stunning achievement, and gives a sense of relief.
“It is just palpable the way people are just relating to one another, how happy people are to be seeing live music again, how happy the musicians are to be playing live music again, it just feels the best,” says Keelaghan.

This years event had over 40 performers take the stage at Kelso Beach at Nawash Park and included youth discoveries.
Keelaghan says he expects those who couldn’t make it out to this year’s event to attend next year.
