The Hanover Police Services Board and association have reached a deal for a new five-year collective agreement, which includes terms for annual wage increases.
Hanover Police says board and association officials signed the agreement on Aug. 29 and is for both uniformed and civilian members of the police service.
In addition to setting the terms for annual wage increases, is also includes clarifications and minor changes to benefits and working conditions, while also being comparable to other similarly sized police services in the province.
The new contract will go into effect on Jan. 1, and extend until Dec. 31, 2027. This agreement comes four months before the end of the existing agreements.
“The signing of these agreements is an indication of the cooperation and excellent working relationship between the board and association. Both parties are committed to providing efficient and effective community based policing to the residents and visitors of the Town of Hanover,” says Hanover Police.
