The River District Board of Management is going to start collecting nominations for its 2022 election this week.
The board says in preparations for the election on Nov. 14, the nomination period will start on Sept. 9 and run until Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.
People looking to become a member of the board must either have a commercial property in the district or are tenants of the property.
People interested in running for the seven offices of the board will need to file a nomination with the River District Election Manager at city hall.
If there are not enough candidates to fill the seven offices, the nomination period will be extended for any seats that are not filled. If there are more than seven, an election will be held with people able to fill out a paper ballot to submit at city hall on Nov. 14.
More details on the nomination process can be found on the city website.
