South Bruce OPP are investigating what was initially reported as a serious assault that was reported in Ripley.
The victim was originally taken to London hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police are now saying that the victim has since died of his injuries.
The victim has been identified as 57-year-old Kevin Richman or Huron-Kinloss Township.
OPP say that 26-year-old Daniel Paton, also of Huron-Kinloss, has now been charged with manslaughter.
The accused remains in custody.
