OPP have charged 26 people with drug-related charges after a four-month-long investigation.
The Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau of the OPP started its investigation after an uptick in overdoses in Grey, Bruce, Huron, and Perth counties.
A total of 111 charges were laid.
The street value of the drugs seized is $25,600.
The charges range from possession of drugs, possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.
OPP say that throughout the course of their investigation, they seized:
– 160 grams of methamphetamine
– 50 grams of fentanyl
– 60 grams of cocaine
– 6 grams carfentanyl
– more than 80 morphine pills
– more than 140 hydromorphone pills
Police also seized:
– two firearms
– stolen property amounting to more than $36,000 in value
– over $6,000 in Canadian currency
Eight of the people charged were held in custody, while 18 were released with conditions.
They’re all expected to appear in court throughout October 2022 in Owen Sound, Walkerton, Goderich, and Stratford.
