The Owen Sound Salvation Army is getting ready for the upcoming holiday season and their busiest time of year for fundraising.
Family Services & Food Bank Director Alice Wannan says they’re getting ready for the annual Kettle Campaign, “We have our Christmas kettles getting ready to go out in just a few short weeks — they coincide with our Santa Claus Parade on November 19th. That is our biggest fundraising campaign of the year.”
She also says that they’re looking for donations to help provide for those in need.
They also have their other Christmas campaigns, such as toy drives.
“We work with our fire departments to make sure that every family in our community that’s in need of toys has toys to open on Christmas morning. So it’s a very busy time for the Salvation Army.”
