South Bruce OPP say a Meaford resident is facing charges following a driver fleeing a stop in Chesley and striking an officer.
Police say on Nov. 2 at 2:36 p.m., an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle along 1st Avenue south in Chesley.
OPP say the driver refused to cooperate with the officer and fled the scene, with the vehicle striking the officer in the process.
Members from West Grey Police and Grey Bruce OPP later found the vehicle, and police say they took the driver into custody without incident.
As a result, OPP say the 60-year-old accused was charged with dangerous driving, assaulting a peace officer, and two counts of flight from police.
Police say the accused will be appearing in court in Walkerton to answer the charges.
The officer was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
