Markdale was the focus of an episode of Still Standing on CBC Wednesday evening.
Still Standing follows Canadian comedian Jonny Harris on his journey across the country visiting small towns, as he tries to find humour in the most unlikeliest of places.
“It’s been on for seven years, and they go to a different town every week, and it is a town that has seen better times but is still standing,” says South Grey News partner Ron Barnett.
The Markdale episode was filmed last summer when production crews descended on the community interviewing local businesses and community leaders.
The episode opened up with former PJ Knickerbockers Store Owner Pam Petch setting the premise of the town.
