The Bayshore Broadcasting Radiothon on 560 CFOS has raised just over $60,000 for Camp Presqu’ile.
On May 12, the radio station welcomed volunteers from the Owen Sound Rotary Club and the camp to take calls as well as pledges and donations from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The radiothon was able to raise just over $30,000, but an anonymous donor pledged to match all donations, doubling it.
The donations are going towards a $100,000 kitchen renovation at the camp.
The camp, which runs in partnership with the Owen Sound Rotary Club and the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce, has provided this overnight summer camp to youth aged six to 16.
Situated along the Georgian Bay shoreline, the camp offers a variety of programs, including canoeing, kayaking, archery, arts ad crafts, and drama.
More information on the camp can be found on the YMCA website here.
