Some military vehicles will be making their way along local roads and highways this weekend on their way to Meaford as part of a training exercise.
Between today and tomorrow, Canadian Army Reserve personnel from 31 Canadian Brigade Group will be on the Highway 400 series, Highway 21, Highway 23, and Highway 26, and will consist of armoured vehicles, troop carrying trucks, and smaller utility vehicles, Public Affairs Officer Lt. Paul Verheye says in an email.
Exercise Arrowhead Guardian is set to start in just over a week at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford taking place from Aug. 23 to the 27.
Lt. Verheye says Arrowhead Guardian is a major training exercise, which will see the culmination of training for hundreds of reservists across Southwestern Ontario, and will be lead by the 31 Canadian Brigade Group.
Soldiers will be actively involved in a variety of exercise scenarios and drills, which will include fighting patrols, live fire attacks and combat service support operations.

The 31 Canadian Brigade Group has its headquarters in London and has over 1,800 members across Southwestern Ontario. Many are army reservists and many are preparing to deploy overseas on international stability operations with Canadian partners and allies in various regions.
Lt. Verheye adds in the email all measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those travelling while the military vehicles are on the road.
