Owen Sound’s leaf and yard waste site is closed for the next few days.
City staff say the 28th Avenue East facility will be closed from Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to allow for wood grinding to occur.
The site is expected to re-open Saturday at 8:30 a.m., when there will be wood mulch available for pick-up.
“Grinding takes place annually and is completed by a third-party contractor,” a release from the city explains. “The equipment used for the grinding operation does not allow safe access to the site for the general public.”
More than 24,000 vehicles have accessed the city’s leaf and yard waste site since May this year, staff say.
