A study says that you should be following up your coffee with water to prevent dehydration.
Caffeine is a diuretic, which means it will make you need the bathroom. So, in order to make sure you’re staying hydrated chase your coffee with water to replace the fluids you will lose through urine, sweat and digestion. Even mild dehydration can affect you physically and mentally. By including a water chase, you’ll feel more alert and it will improve digestion and help prevent constipation. It can also help with metabolism.
Long story short, drink more water whenever possible!
