Ed Sheeran can add Emmy winner to his resume!
Over the weekend, Ed Sheeran along with co-writer Foy Vance and producer Max Martin received the Emmy for Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics for the song called “A Beautiful Game”. It was written and used in the season 3 finale of Apple TV+ show, Ted Lasso.
Ed is currently on tour so he was not able to be at the ceremony, Foy Vance accepted it on his collaborators behalf.
The other nominees were tracks from Ginny & Georgia, The L Word: Generation Q, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Ted Lasso (nominated twice, only one of the songs being written by Sheeran), and Weird: The Al Yankovic Story.
The two-day Creative Arts ceremony gave out nearly 100 (mostly technical) awards ahead of the televised Primetime Emmys broadcast on Jan. 15.
An edited presentation of the Creative Arts Emmy’s will also air on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FXX.
