Each year Pantone declares their Colour of the Year. One that has been a popular choice or is predicted to be.
This time around, the iconic colour authority has crowned Mocha Mousse, as their Colour of the Year.
Pantone describes Mocha Mousse as “a warming, brown hue imbued with richness. It nurtures us by suggesting the delectable qualities of chocolate and coffee, answering our desire for comfort.”
Not everyone agrees. Critics in the comments section have dubbed it “sad beige,” “boring,” and even “the colour of regret.” And yes, the poop emoji comparison is coming in hot.
Love it or hate it, neutral tones like Mocha Mousse have been trending for a while, from home décor to fashion. The “quiet luxury” movement, popularized by shows like Succession, leans into subdued, timeless hues like this.
So, what do you think? Would you use this colour to decorate your home?
