Three-time Olympic medallist Maggie Mac Neil will be in Owen Sound Saturday for a special swimming clinic.
The Owen Sound Aquatic Club is welcoming Mac Neil at the pool at the YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce to lead sessions with their young swimmers Saturday morning.
There will also be an autograph session with Mac Neil from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Saturday in the lobby of the YMCA.
Mac Neil was the Olympic champion in the women’s 100-metre butterfly event at the Tokyo 2020 games, and also won silver and bronze medals as part of Canada’s 4×100 women’s freestyle and individual medley relay teams.
She has since retired from competitive swimming, and shifted her focus to running clinics from younger swimmers.
“I really enjoy passing my knowledge on. And I’m really excited to come work with some of the kids,” she says.
