Good news, Quebec — you’re officially the happiest province in the country.
According to a new survey by Léger, Quebec Residents have an average happiness score of 72.4 out of 100, which is well above the national average.
Quebec’s top ranking reflects its unique blend of French and Canadian culture, affordable housing, and strong social programs.
Coming in second was New Brunswick with a still-smiling 70.2.
Prince Edward Island and Manitoba, were at the bottom of the list.
The Leger Happiness Index surveyed Canadians aged 18 and older to measure their happiness on a scale of 0 to 100. The survey assessed participants’ mood on a point scale and considers aspects such as sleep, nutrition, commuting, courtesy, and news.
Among the 10 largest cities in Canada, Mississauga took the crown for happiest city followed closely by Montreal, with Toronto sitting at the bottom of the list.

Also, interesting enough, Women also reported slightly higher happiness levels than men.
